Dieselution Tour’s First Stop
Volkswagen has officially started its recently-launchedDieselution Tour last Friday, September 28, in New York City’s Ecofest at the Lincoln Center.
The primary aim of the Dieselution tour, as what was declared in its launch, is in educating the public on the importance of alternative fuels and clean diesel technology.
Keith Price, Volkswagen of America Public Relations Manager in Product and Technology, has this to assert during the Ecofest: “Volkswagen of America considers the Dieselution Tour an important informational resource for everyone concerned about the environment and improved fuel economy standards. We want to show Americans that today’s clean diesel technology is a quantum leap from the power-plants introduced nearly 30 years ago. This tour aims to change any outdated perceptions about diesel technology.”
“As the diesel car sales leader in the United States, we have worked hard to make our diesels cleaner, quieter and more fuel efficient. Once consumers realize that a clean diesel alternative can improve their fuel economy by nearly 35 percent over comparable gasoline engines, we’re confident that many drivers will visit their local Volkswagen dealerships.”
The Ecofest is just the first stop of the Dieselution. It is slated to tour various locations and events all around the United States. This would include environmental festivals, alternative fuel programs, auto shows, and even the much-awaited 2008 Super Bowl.
