Once Again Hailing at the Top
The TSI Engine of Volkswagen has once again won the International Engine of the Year Awards 2007. This is already its second time bagging this precious title(it also bagged that award in 2006), which is considered to be the most important competition of its kind worldwide.
The TSI Engine is available in Volkswagen models Golf, Jetta, Touran, and Golf Plus. Because of the awards achieved of their TSI Engine, they will be putting this engine in the Golf Estate edition that they will release this coming June.
The TSI Engine is a dual-charged engine. And with this concept for an engine, Volkswagen made a great accomplishment in reducing consumption and emission but still increasing the driving experience at the same time. This was made possible by the 1.4L engine using petrol direct injection and an advanced dual charging concept via the compressor plus turbocharger. Unlike the Fsi Engine also found in other Volkswagen models, TSI engines are 39% smaller but only consumes 20% less fuel than the FSI.
