Volkswagen Individual Unveils New Tiguan R-Line Study

Individual, the Volkswagen engineering department which is responsible for the BlueMotion range of vehicles and the Golf R32, has revealed the new Tiguan R-Line design study at the Essex Motor Show in Germany – a preview before the actual February arrival of the new Volkswagen Tiguan compact 4×4 in the UK market.
The standard Tiguan will come with either a 150 PS TSI petrol engine or a 140 PS, common rail, TDI diesel engine, whereas subsequent models (pegged to arrive in the summer of 2008) will have 170 PS TDI or a range-topping 200 PS TSI engine. Each Tiguan features the state-of-the-art Haldex 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Just like how the Altitude line-up is to the Touareg model, the R-Line model will be sold in the UK as the new range-topping trim level of the Tiguan. To be more specific, the new R-Line soups up the standard Tiguan with new Volkswagen parts and accessories, such as the different front and rear bumpers, a new grille section that features a pair of split chrome bars, 19-inch “Omanyt” type alloy multispoke wheels, wheel-arch extensions and side sills. Inside the cabin, the Tiguan R-Line has a flat-bottomed and multifunctional leather steering wheel, aluminum pedal caps, as well as sport bucket seats in the front that can come upholstered in the “Monte Carlo” fabric design or in leather.
All of these design elements from Volkswagen Individual not only differentiate the R-Line from the Tiguan as its sporty edition, these also distinguish it from conventional vehicles as a whole.
